Resort
The Manzherok all-season resort is located in the heart of the Altai Mountains. It is the largest resort that includes ski slopes, a 5-star and 3-star hotel, children's facilities, spa complex, conference hall, shopping galleries and many other attraction spots. The resort development plan envisages the creation of the largest ski resort in Siberia.
We were faced with the task of designing the interior and exterior wayfinding system, including facades. The architecture and interior design of the project required a delicate approach.
On the one hand, the wayfinding system had to be functional, and on the other hand, it should not disturb the integrity of the interiors and shouldn't be highlighted against their background.
The project involves several user workflows with different usage scenarios. Therefore, the information strategy of the system has zoning and dilution of flows for minimum overlap between them.
For the spa area, white coloured artificial stone with elements of metal inlay, milling and epoxy resin pouring is used. The shape of the carriers is a reference to the stones used in massages, as well as a reinterpretation of the wall finishes.
As a basic design code, individual letters are used and the colour varies depending on the space - brass, patinated brass or powder coated metal.
The design code of the exterior carriers rhymes with small architectural forms in the landscaping. As the resort is ever-expanding and the number of messages on the signage changes, the designs have interchangeable information fields.
